چکیده

In order to achieve precise, accurate and reliable tracking of human movement, a 3D human model that is very similar to the subject is essential. In this paper, we present a new system to (1) precisely construct the surface shape of the whole human body, and (2) estimate the underlying skeleton. In this work we make use of a set of images of the subject in collaboration with a generic anthropometrical 3D model made up of regular surfaces and skeletons to adapt to the specific subject. We developed a three-stage technique that uses the human shape feature points and limb outlines that work together with the generic 3D model to yield our final customized 3D model. The first stage is an iterative camera pose calibration and 3D characteristic point reconstruction-deformation algorithm that gives us an initial customized 3D model. The second stage refines the initial customized 3D model by deformation via the silhouette limbs information, thus obtaining the surface skin model. In the final stage, we make use of the results of skin deformation to estimate the underlying skeleton. From our final results, we demonstrate that our system is able to construct quality human model, where the skeleton is constructed and positioned automatically.

Building Reconstruction from N Uncalibrated Views

We present a supervised approach to recover 3D models of buildings from multiple uncalibrated views. With this method the user matches 3D vertices in the images and defines the 3D model of the building with the help of elementary and intuitive geometric constraints. At the same time, a graph describing relationships between vertices is built. Then, unknown parameters of this graph are estimated...

3D Reconstruction of Retinal Blood Vessels from Two Views

A 3D reconstruction of retinal blood vessel trees using two views of fundus images is presented. The problem addresses: 1) The recovery of camera-eye model parameters by an self-calibration method. The camera parameters are found via the solution of simplified Kruppa equations, based on correspondences captured by hand from four different views. 2) The extraction of blood vessels and skeletons ...

Image-Based Geometrically-Correct Photorealistic Scene/Object Modeling (IBPhM): A Review

There are emerging interests from both computer vision and computer graphics communities in obtaining photorealistic modeling of a scene or an object from real images. This paper presents a tentative review of the computer vision techniques used in such modeling which guarantee the generated views to be geometrically correct. The topics covered include mosaicking for building environment maps, ...

Uncalibrated 1D projective camera and 3D affine reconstruction of lines

We describe a linear algorithm to recover 3D affine shape/motion from line correspondences over three views with uncalibrated affine cameras. The key idea is the introduction of a one-dimensional projective camera. This converts the 3D affine reconstruction of “lines” into 2D projective reconstruction of “points”. Using the full tensorial representation of three uncalibrated 1D views, we prove ...

3D Reconstruction and Visualization of Urban Scenes from Uncalibrated Wide-Baseline Image Sequences

In this paper we show how based on a number of different techniques it is possible to fully automatically generate basic ingredients for high quality visualizations of urban areas characterized by vertical facade planes from nothing but uncalibrated wide-baseline image sequences without using any markers or ground control. At the core of our algorithms are least-squares matching, projective geo...
